Some diving course providers do not offer boat dives as part of the Open Water Course. Boats provide many more options and access to dive sites. This course isn’t just about diving off a boat, it covers basic boating knowledge for those that haven’t spent much time on boats before.

PADI Openwater

WHAT'S INVOLVED?

Examples of what you will learn on this course include:

Boating safety equipment such as VHF radio use, basic navigation, fire extinguishers, flares, life jacket use and stowage

Practice tying the most commonly used knots
Reading navigational charts and tide tables
The use of ‘shot lines’
Safe entry and exits

You will complete two boat dives in scenic dive locations.
