Professional Diving Courses

Divemaster

Turn your local knowledge and love of Tasmania’s waters into professional dive leadership.

Take the first step into professional dive leadership by developing demonstration-quality skills, strong dive knowledge and sound judgement. The course prepares you to plan and supervise certified-diver activities, deliver clear briefings, assist instructors, manage problems and represent safe, professional diving practices.

Open Water Scuba Instructor

Build a rewarding career introducing new divers to Tasmania’s underwater world.

Turn your diving experience into the ability to teach others safely and confidently. The instructor pathway develops lesson preparation, classroom and in-water teaching, skill demonstrations, student supervision, rescue ability, risk management, standards knowledge and the professional judgement required to conduct diver-training programs.

Sidemount Instructor

Help Tasmania’s divers discover a flexible configuration suited to boats, shores and technical progression.

Learn to teach divers how to configure, use and manage sidemount equipment in a structured, standards-based course. Instructor training sharpens your demonstration skills, problem-solving ability and control of student dives, while preparing you to coach trim, buoyancy, cylinder handling, gas management and shutdown procedures.

Nitrox Instructor

Give Tasmania’s divers the knowledge to make better use of enriched air.

Qualify to teach entry-level nitrox diving, helping students understand and safely use enriched air mixtures from 22 to 40 percent oxygen. Instructor development focuses on clear presentation of oxygen exposure, maximum operating depth, gas analysis, cylinder identification, documentation and the practical decisions divers make when planning nitrox dives.

Advanced Nitrox Instructor

Develop the next generation of capable technical divers in Tasmania.

Develop the teaching and supervisory skills required to train technical divers in the use of advanced nitrox and high-oxygen decompression gases. The course evaluates your technical knowledge, demonstration-quality skills, dive planning, gas-switch control, emergency management and ability to apply current standards in both classroom and open-water training.

Decompression Procedures Instructor

Prepare to teach planned staged decompression diving with the control and judgement expected of a technical instructor. Training assesses your ability to present decompression theory, organise complex dives, demonstrate equipment and ascent procedures, manage realistic failures and supervise students through progressive, standards-compliant technical training.
